About The Project

Route / Map

While the route for the new 20-inch pipeline has not been finalized, the most desirable and least intrusive path will generally follow an existing TVA power line easement.

Several factors are considered when selecting the pipeline route:

  • Public safety
  • Topography and geology
  • Existing public and utility rights-of-way
  • Minimal impact to environment and natural resources, including
    1. Threatened and endangered species
    2. Fish habitats
    3. State and local parks
    4. Wetlands and water bodies
    5. Cultural resources, such as artifacts
  • Limited or complete avoidance of residential, commercial crossings and utility crossings
  • Ability to reasonably, reliably and safely conduct pipeline operations and maintenance
  • Costs
